Winner - Bathroom Retailer of the Year 2012
March 2012
The Bathroom Company - Has won UK Bathroom Retailer for the second year running!
The Bathroom Company was awarded KBB Review UK Bathroom Retailer 2012 at a glittering ceremony hosted by Rory Bremner. This is the first time ever that the award has been made to a business for two successive years.
Lawrence says “We're absolutely ecstatic about our recent win of UK Bathroom Retailer of the Year 2012. It is great to be recognised in such a prestigious way within our industry. After our double success in 2011 we have had increased architect and interior designer enquiries, making a significant improvement to our turnover. In addition to this, we feel that our private clients appear to really enjoy working with a successful company."
This award is the latest in a clutch of awards for the business, which include Perthshire Business of the Year and Showroom of the Year. The Bathroom Retailer of the Year Award is the big one. It's the prize that judges the overall business - rewarding the best retailer in the industry. It covers showroom, customer services, business plans, overall strategy and financial success and puts the operation forward as the perfect example for any bathroom retailer. Judges were looking for how the business is managed - and how successful it is.
Lawrence added "Our future plans are simply to improve on what we have, in order that we can continue to be at the cutting edge of bathroom design and installation”.
Finalists for three KBB Review Awards
January 2012
We're over-the-moon that The Bathroom Company has been confirmed as finalists for both the UK-wide KBB Review Master Retailer and Showroom of the Year Awards, for the second year in a row. The icing-on-the-cake is that our star designer, Fiona Lowry, has been selected as one of the finalists in the Bathroom Designer categories. Fiona entered, for the first time, Bathroom Designer of the Year (Project cost over £25,000); choosing a really super bathroom that we delivered for one of our clients. We're very grateful to our clients for allowing us to show off their great new room.
Lawrence said "Coming on the back of last years KBB Review Awards and the recent Perthshire Chamber Business Star Awards; being selected as Finalists for three Awards is a great start to 2012! I'm really pleased that Fiona's work has been recognised and we're all keeping our finger's crossed. We know for sure that good design has to be backed with skilled delivery and installation. Our entire team contributes to the overall success of a project. We're very very lucky to have such a strong team, which we can rely on. It goes without saying that we're very excited about going to the KBB Review Show and the Award Ceremony, which is being held in March."
Community Focus
January 2012
The other big news at The Bathroom Company for 2012 is our Community Focus initiative. We're carefully recycling our old materials and our customers are helping us to choose which organisation will benefit from the value of these. Half the fund will go to Cornhill House, in Perth; which is close to Lawrences' heart. The other half will go to one-of-three charities, with the winner being selected by votes from our customers. The charities chosen for the first round are:
- CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. They offer care for the whole family in their two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch.
- Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing. They do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good.
- WaterAid is an international non governmental organisation. Their mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
We realise that we're pretty fortunate and would like to help put something back into the community. If you'd like a chance to direct these funds, all you have to do is place an order. Now, what better reason could there be for a new bathroom?

Perthshire Business of the Year
November 2011
The Bathroom Company has hit the jackpot again, after being crowned Perthshire’s top business. The Bathroom Company was announced Perthshire Chamber of Commerce 2011 Business Of The Year title at a glittering Star Awards ceremony in Crieff in November.
Managing director Lawrence Haddow and delighted staff from the 18-year-old family business were showered with praise after securing the Marketing Campaign category trophy and going on to claim the overall trophy and title. Around 300 guests heard how The Bathroom Company captured the judges’ vote for its “success, passion and drive”.
The company retails, designs and installs high quality bathrooms to both private and commercial clients and employs 13 installers and a further five staff at their 4,500 sq ft showroom.
Chamber President Stephen Leckie said: “The Bathroom Company is a small independent, local retail company which has achieved not only financial growth but also UK wide national recognition despite the economic downturn which has affected many others in its sector.

“The Bathroom Company won the overall Perthshire Business of the Year title because of the huge impact that embracing marketing for the first time has had on the business operation, profit and culture over the last year,” he explained. “They demonstrated real passion for the business and also for their new found advocacy of marketing with commendable success.”
A delighted Lawrence said the award proved that a small Scottish business based in Perth can, when it’s focussed, compete with the best across the UK and win.
“We’ve proven that you don’t have to spend a fortune, but can be creative and still have a major impact on your business,” he said. We had the nerve to invest, at a difficult time, and the sense to make it cost-effective. And in marketing we’ve embraced something new, and sometimes a little bit scary, which has really helped to secure our business.”

Baths on Tour
August 2011
We decided that the baths hadn't been getting out enough; so we took them to St. Andrews beach for the day. The purpose of the day out was not only to show off the baths a bit, but to get some great images for our new advertisments.
The event itself caused not a little amusement for a number of folk who were on the beach and wondered what we were up to. We ended up with some stunning images and had a bit of fun at the same time.
The Bathroom Company wins a double!
May 2011
We're delighted to announce that The Bathroom Company has just scooped two wins in the KBBreview Industry Awards 2011 in London. The annual awards are organised by KBBreview, the UK’s leading magazine for the kitchen and bathroom industry. We won the Best Showroom in the bathroom category and also the Master Retailer for Bathrooms.

To be selected as finalists for both awards, is quite unusual. This has only happened once before, in nearly twenty years. This makes The Bathroom Company, officially, the Best Bathroom Showroom in the UK and the UK’s Master Bathroom Retailer.
Fiona Lowry says: “We are delighted to have won both Bathroom Showroom and Master Retailer 2011. We were up against serious competition from businesses across the UK. These awards clearly show the quality of our service; positioning The Bathroom Company as not just the best in Scotland, but the whole of the UK.” Lawrence Haddow, who started the Leonard Street business 18 years ago said “We’re thrilled to have won not just one, but two awards. I’d like to thank all our customers who’ve supported us and our fantastic team.”
Andrew Davies, editor of KBBreview and chairman of the judging, says “I would like to heartily congratulate The Bathroom Company on their success.
This is only the second time in the 17-year history of the awards that someone has managed to win in two categories, and for The Bathroom Company to do this on their first year of entry is a real achievement!"
Bathroom Showroom judge Matt Thomas, from the John Lewis Partnership stated “the attention to detail and design was fantastic” and Master Retailer judge Paul Rowland, of CP Hart agreed that the award was “totally deserved”. Andrew went on to say “As ever, the standard of entries was incredibly high and they are very deserving of their awards.
Their business and showroom certainly stood out from the others and was a real example of the excellence to be found in this competitive and challenging industry.Well done The Bathroom Company!”

- Master Retailer Award for Bathrooms - Looking for the best all-round bathroom retailer
- Showroom Award for Bathrooms - Providing the perfect showroom setting for bathroom sales
The kbbreview Industry Awards is a prestigious annual event, now in its 17th year; which rewards retailers and designers in the kitchen and bathroom industry. It is run by kbbreview magazine, the leading business title for the sector.
The Bathroom Company was nominated by it’s customers and the next stage is judging.
Lawrence Haddow of The Bathroom Company says “We’re thrilled to have been short-listed for not just one, but two awards.
